Kathy Johnson, Principal Consultant of RMS began consulting with school districts on risk management issues in 1996. With her 37 years of experience in Workers’ Compensation/liability risk management, she sees the issues from both the carrier’s and client’s perspectives.
Kathy currently independently consults with school/CESA and businesses throughout Wisconsin. She works in the best interests of the client like she's a member of the administrative team with no insurance carrier, agency or association contracts to influence her recommendations. She is also the consultant for the risk management cooperative (66.0301), the Wisconsin Educators Risk Management Co-op (WERMC).
Kathy provides impartial, objective consulting services, depending on the client’s needs and insurability. Her hands-on experience and expertise in risk and claims management means that she provides practical and workable guidance and solutions for her clients. Her recommendations are practical and realistic, with a heavy dose of common sense. RMS services include, but are not limited to, the following. We will also discuss your insurance and risk management needs and issues and work with you to determine what is appropriate.
- Review past claims history (usually Workers’ Compensation and Liability) and determine status of open claims, including justification for adjuster’s file reserves and action plan to get claims closed.
- Ongoing retainer services (hourly or flat fee)
to assist you in developing, implementing,
and maintaining risk management strategies
using “best practices” to reduce short-term
and long-term insurance costs.
- Services are available on an hourly or flat-rate basis. Expenses including mileage, meals, and lodging, and other normal expenses related to the projet are in addition to the rates.
